Her father is always drinkin'

I guess these days it seems like alcohol is his best friend

It's clearly obvious to everyone that he has a problem, but he's in constant denial about it,

And every time he gets drunk the liquor causes him to become violent

One night he grabbed her by the hair

punching her in the face,

Even though her mama was there

she didn't seem to give a care

for all she did was stair

Hues of black and blue

lie hidden underneath her clothes

so nobody would ever know,

But if you only gazed into her eyes

You'll begin to realize that her

pain shows

There's no excuse for any type of abuse

after-all no one deserves to be misused

So if you or somebody you know is being beatin',

You need to report it because it's wrong,

because if you don't you'll end up six feet under

where you don't belong
